Wi-FI Access

Broadband internet access via Wi-Fi (wireless) technology is now available in the public areas of the Civil Court Building.

Following consultation with the Law Society of Tasmania, this access is being made available for a trial period of 6 months in Hobart. At the end of the trial period the Court will review the uptake of the service to determine whether the service should be continued and whether it should be expanded to include the Criminal Building in Hobart and the Courts Launceston and Burnie Registries.

Details of the service:

  • Available in the civil building in court rooms 1, 2 and 3, the foyer and waiting areas outside these court rooms and the Andrew Inglis Clark Law Library.
  • Available during Registry Opening Hours only.
  • Court users who have a wireless device such as a notebook or PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) will be able to browse the internet and have access to web based e-mail.
  • For the trial period there will be no charges for the internet access.
