The following Practice Direction is published by direction of the Chief Justice, the Honourable Mr Justice Underwood AO.
This Practice Direction replaces 1/1998.
Wigs will no longer be worn by Judges or Counsel in all matters within the Civil Jurisdiction of the Court whether at first instance or in the Full Court. In such matters, the dress will be gown, bar jacket, jabot or bands. For the time being there will be no change in the present requirements concerning court apparel in the Criminal Jurisdiction at first instance or in the Court of Criminal Appeal.
