The following Practice Direction is published by direction of the Chief Justice, the Honourable Mr Justice Underwood AO.
This Practice Direction replaces 2/1990.
If a party wishes to obtain an urgent appointment before a judge for the hearing of a matter, on a day other than the day upon which such a matter would in the normal course have been appointed, the papers must be accompanied by a letter personally signed by a practitioner in which he or she certifies that the circumstances are special or that the matter is urgent and particulars of the reason for urgency.
In the absence of such a letter the application will be listed for hearing in the normal way.
