SUPREME COURT AMENDMENT RULES No. 2 of 2006

These rules are gazetted on 19 July and will come into effect on that day.

SEARCH ORDERS AND FREEZING ORDERS

PART 36 DIVISIONS 1A AND 1B

These rules are made pursuant to the recommendations of the Harmonisation of Discovery Rules Committee consisting of representatives of each of the jurisdictions of the States and Federal Court.

Rejection Of Documents By Registrar Rule 82A

The Rule Committee has agreed to the reintroduction of the former Order 77 rule 13 (2) of the Rules of the Supreme Court 1965 which allowed a Registrar to seek directions from a judge if a writ or other process appears to be frivolous or vexatious or an abuse of process.
