This Circular to Practitioners replaces 2/2000.
The Master will hear Burnie District Registry Chamber Matters by video link from Hobart between 9.15 am and 9.45 am on Friday of each week. Video conferencing facilities in the Supreme Court will be used. Only matters where the estimated hearing time is ten minutes or less will be dealt with by video link.
Requests for listings must be made to the Court at least three days in advance of the desired hearing date. The file will be sent to Hobart and so, at the time of the request, judge's papers must be filed containing all documents, which the parties would like the Master to consider.
If a document, which is to be referred to, comes into existence following the filing of the judge's papers, the document must be sent by facsimile along with a header sheet identifying the name and number of the matter or action and the name of the party submitting the document to the Master's Associate on 6231 1918 by 4.00 pm on the day preceding the hearing.
If within two days of the appointed day the parties decide to have the matter removed from the list or to deliver a consent memorandum, communications must be made directly with the Master's Associate in Hobart on the above facsimile number or by telephone number 6233 3430.
Practitioners who wish to familiarise themselves with the video conferencing facilities prior to a hearing date should contact the District Registrar.
